ICT Digital Leaders: Innovating for the Future

Our ICT Digital Leaders are a dynamic team of pupils who champion technology across the school. They play an essential role in supporting digital learning, assisting peers and staff with ICT tools, and promoting safe, responsible use of technology. Their leadership helps ensure that digital skills are embedded in everyday learning.

A major focus of their work is the development of our Digital Hub, an exciting initiative designed to transform how pupils access and use technology. The Digital Hub provides collaborative spaces and cutting-edge resources, creating a clear pathway from early years through post-primary and into future careers. This project is part of a wider partnership with schools in the Strabane and Derry City districts and industry leaders such as Allstate and Software NI, giving pupils real-world insights into the tech sector.

Our Digital Leaders also help deliver engaging events that bring technology to life. Coding Week gives pupils hands-on experience with programming and computational thinking, while the Minecraft Workshop—run in collaboration with W5 and partner schools—encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fun, interactive environment. These activities inspire pupils to see technology not just as a tool, but as a gateway to innovation and future opportunities.

Promoting Digital Safety
Digital Leaders play a key role in reinforcing online safety across the school. They support initiatives such as Internet Safety campaigns, lead discussions on responsible online behaviour, and help pupils understand how to protect their personal information. By modelling safe practices and sharing practical tips, they ensure that technology is used positively and securely.
