Trees for Schools Progamme

17th Jan 2022

To mark Northern Ireland’s Centenary year, we have taken part in the “NI Trees for Schools” initiative. As part of the programme, we received three beautiful trees to plant in our school grounds.

In December, pupils from the Eco-Committee were involved in planting the trees, aided by Mrs Smith and Iris from New Horizons Garden Centre.

This project links in very well with the topic of Biodiversity, which is the main focus for our Eco-School project this year. As well as adding beauty to the landscape, the trees will also encourage other wildlife into our school grounds.

Well done to our pupils for taking part in this momentous event and thank you to Mrs Smith and Iris for all their help with the planting.

We look forward to seeing the trees thrive in our school grounds in the years ahead.
