P4/5 Science Investigation with Mr McElhinney
Today, P4/5 enjoyed taking part in a fun and colourful science experiment with Mr McElhinney using Skittles and water. The children carefully arranged the sweets, made predictions about what they thought would happen, and then observed as the colours dissolved and spread through the water to create beautiful rainbow patterns.
This hands-on activity linked directly to the World Around Us area of the Northern Ireland Curriculum, encouraging pupils to develop their scientific thinking, observation, prediction and investigation skills. The children discussed why the colours moved, what they noticed during the experiment, and how different factors can affect the results.
Activities such as this help bring science to life, allowing pupils to learn through exploration, curiosity and discovery while developing important skills in communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
A fantastic afternoon of learning, investigating and having fun in P4/5 with Mr McElhinney!
